29 Leonard Tue Mar 20 16:40:03 Crop Circles Discovered in Field A field of winter wheat has been turned into a public spectacle as tourists and curiousity-seekers alike gather to gape at the scene at the McElvoy farm, about fifteen miles outside the town of Kent Crossing. A private pilot spotted the pattern of circles Tuesday morning and reported them to police. When they arrived on the scene they found several trespassers and a very irate farmer. "These damn fool hippie kids have gone and ruined my crop!" said Irving McElvoy, 66, of Kent Township. But one of the sightseers, Agnes Klum from Redwood Hills, CA, thought differently. "This is a sign from the aliens that we should stop trying to persecute the innocent, peaceful creature known as Bigfoot. They are not pleased that we have tried to capture him and his family." Police currently have no suspects in the vandalism, though local pranksters top their list. "When we find out anything we'll let people know. Until then, we'd like to remind the local and visiting public alike that the McElvoy field is private property and not to trespass or disturb his crops any further than they already have been." (An arial photograph of the field accompanies this article. In it, a large circle is centered in the middle of the field, with a smaller circle of untrampled grain within it. Three arms of five gradually smaller circles each curve off from the main circle, and two other, smaller circles are neatly lined up off to one corner.) ............................................................................
